Dow City, Iowa, May 06, 2011 - The Dow City-Arion H.S. Alumni Association celebrates is 104th Alumni Banquet on May 28th at 7 p.m. at the Boyer Valley School (former DC-A School Gymnasium), Dow City, Iowa. Alumni and faculty can make their reservations to attend the banquet by sending $17 per person ($25 per person for responses postmarked or paid after May 20th) to Dow City Alumni Association, P.O. Box 163, Dow City, IA 51528, or by paying via PAYPAL to DCAalumni@hotmail.com. Please include with your payment the year of your graduation, and if applicable, your preference to be seated with your class or with your spouse’s class. Responses postmarked or paid after May 20th may not necessarily be seated with their respective graduating classes. Phone reservations are not accepted. The alumni committee is pleased to announce a change made to the banquet invitation policy in regards to alumni bringing guests. They know the alumni are very proud of their association and enjoy sharing many stories of their high school days with their friends and family. This year, and for the years to come, they would like to open the doors of the banquet to any of the alumni’s friends and family who are 16 years of age and older, and would like to attend as the alumni or faculty’s guests.
The association has selected the late Nellie Brasel, the late Phyllis TenEyck, and Bob Custer as the 2011 recipients of the prestigious Greyhound Award for their outstanding contributions to the Dow City-Arion School, community, and/or Alumni Association. The award presentation team will include Dow City-Arion High School graduates Ace Ettleman (Class of ’73,) Jim Steinkuehler (Class of ’76,) Richard Brown (Class of ’57,) Tim Brasel (Class of ’76,) Tom Gehl (Class of ’71,) Vincent Leinen (Class of ’72,) and Marge Gorden, wife of Ray Dean ,(Class of ’60.) They will bestow posthumously to family members of Nellie and Phyllis, and to Bob their awards at the upcoming 104th Annual DC-A High School Alumni Banquet.
