Inaugural Dow City-Arion Heritage Days Celebration held in conjunction with
101st DC-A High School Alumni Banquet Friday, May 23rd - Monday, May 26th, 2008

April 21, 2008-Dow City, Iowa The inaugural Dow City-Arion Heritage Days Celebration will be held in conjunction with the 101st DC-A High School Alumni Banquet. The incredible 4 day celebration will be staged with the combined talents of the American Legion, DC-A High School Alumni Association, Dow City Community Club, Dow City-Arion Fire Department, local churches and residents. Please plan to celebrate the Hertiage Days by attending these exciting activities.      

Friday, May 23rd  

DC-A School Memorabilia Display   5:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. at the Boyer Valley school art room in Dow City --- enjoy a trip down memory lane --- for further details or contribute memorabilia contact Vincent J. Leinen at 818-342-9336 or e-mail: bd754@lafn.org ---free --open to the public.

Saturday, May 24th

4th St. Mary’s of Dow City 2 Mile Fun/Walk   8:00 a.m.-8:15 a.m.- Registration &  8:30 a.m. – Activity starts --- Registration/Start-Finish line at Dow City Park (Gazebo)  --- spectator-friendly course encircles the beautiful town of Dow City --- Pre-Registration Fee $13.00 or $15.00 on day of event. On Saturday transportation is provided from the Dow City Park to the Dow House Historic Site by Robert and Serilda Block via their vintage 1960 John Deere 630 Tractor and hay rack.

101st Annual Dow City-Arion High School Alumni Banquet   7:00 p.m. at the former DC-A School Gymnasium --- 212 S. School Street. Gene Harre, Joan North and Marvel Heistand will be honored as recipients of the prestigious “Greyhound Award” for their outstanding contribution to the school, community and/or alumni. Sheila Brummer the WOWT News Anchor/Reporter and graduate of the DC-A H.S. Class of 88” will emcee the banquet.
